Corporate Support Officer

About the role
We are seeking a Corporate Support Officer to join Anglican Diocesan Services in Canberra. This is a full-time position based in Canberra ACT 2600. The Corporate Support Officer will provide essential administrative and operational support to the organisation, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of our services. This role is critical to maintaining our organisational infrastructure and supporting our team to achieve our mission of serving the Anglican community with excellence and compassion.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage general administrative duties including scheduling, correspondence, filing and document management

  • Provide support to multiple departments and staff members, responding promptly to requests and enquiries

  • Maintain and organise office systems, procedures and records to ensure efficient operations

  • Coordinate meetings, events and administrative activities as required

  • Handle telephone enquiries and reception duties, directing calls and managing visitor access appropriately

  • Prepare reports, presentations and documentation using appropriate software and tools

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

  • Support the coordination of administrative processes and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures

  • Liaise with external parties, including other dioceses, government agencies and service providers

  • Assist with data entry, database management and maintenance of administrative records

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a not-for-profit, faith-based or government organisation

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant office software

  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work

  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Strong customer service orientation and professional interpersonal skills

  • Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude towards work

  • Experience with office management systems and record-keeping practices is desirable

  • Knowledge of or interest in the Anglican Church or faith-based community services is advantageous
