Are you an experienced finance professional who takes pride in accuracy, reliability, and doing things properly the first time? We're looking for a proactive Accounts Officer to join our team and play a vital role in keeping the organisation's financial operations running smoothly and compliantly.
This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail will really matter. You'll be trusted with end-to-end financial processes and work closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure our numbers are accurate, our obligations are met, and our reporting is reliable.
About the role
As Accounts Officer, you'll be involved across the full finance function from daily processing through to month-end, year-end, and audit support. You'll also contribute to improving financial processes and be a go-to person for finance-related queries across the organisation.
At a high level, your role will include:
- Managing day-to-day financial transactions with accuracy and care
- Supporting month-end and year-end close, including journals and reconciliations
- Processing payments, payroll uploads, invoices, and receivables
- Maintaining asset records and supporting financial reporting
- Preparing documentation and reconciliations for external audits
What you'll bring
You're someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work and can stay calm and focused when deadlines are tight. You're comfortable balancing multiple priorities and understand the importance of confidentiality and compliance in a finance environment.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
- Experience with month-end and year-end processes
- Strong reconciliation and journal preparation skills
- Confidence working across multiple financial tasks at once
- Experience using accounting and payroll systems
- Strong Excel skills (experience with Attache, AssetPro or Xero will be highly regarded)
